From small beginnings to global ambitions
Zeus Animation was not built on a big launch or outside money. It was built one project at a time, in one city, by a team that kept getting better.
Five people and a small room in Polehan
We started in 2014 with five people, a handful of secondhand workstations, and a conviction that world-class animation does not have to come from Los Angeles or Tokyo. The first briefs were small and local. We treated every one of them as though the studio depended on it, because it did. Reputation was the only asset we had, and we spent a decade earning it frame by frame.
Local jobs turned into global briefs
Word travelled the way it does when work is good. Local startups became national brands, and national brands introduced us to international ones. At some point the briefs stopped being simple and started arriving from enterprise teams with real budgets and real stakes attached. So we learned to work the way those teams work: documented approvals, versioned deliverables, clear milestones, and timelines that hold.
One roof, one pipeline, one team
Writing, storyboarding, design, 2D and 3D animation, sound design and final mix all happen inside our studio in Malang. Nothing is subcontracted and nothing is handed to a stranger halfway through. That single decision is why the work stays consistent from the first style frame to the final master, and why a client only ever has one team to talk to.
We want to be counted among the ten best animation studios in the world.
It is a large ambition for a team that began in a small room in Polehan, and that is exactly why we like it. Every brief we take on is a step toward it, which is also why we still care as much about a startup explainer as we do about a global campaign.
